License Plate Mounting

This may seem like a meaningless modification, but it is often an

overlooked area of a vehicle. The first thing to go was the

dealer's license plate frame and the vinyl decal they place on

their vehicles. Advertising is not free. Then, I used stainless steel

socket head screws and nuts to hold the plate in place for a

clean appearance. There are a lot of things "I'd Rather Be..."

doing, but a license plate frame is not the place to express these!

Personalized Plate #1

First and foremost, make sure that most people can in fact figure

out what your plate is supposed to say! Don't try to get a 10

word phrase condensed down to 7 or 8 characters. No one will

know what it means. In North Carolina punctuation marks are

allowed to be used. Realizing F-350 would already be taken, I

thought I could get away with adding some punctuation before or

after F-350 to make the plate original. The DMV said, "Nope. You

can't do it that way." So, I settled for my second choice.

Personalized Plate #2

Well, of course, wouldn't you know it? The dumb asses at the

DMV can't figure out how to mail me my truck's registration

each year! Somehow the other 9 million registered vehicle

owners in North Carolina get theirs! As a result, I had to go

to the DMV in person to pay, my now overdue, registration.

And, of course, my beloved plate had since been taken, since

mine had become overdue, and hence, available to anyone.

Alright, enough bitching about the DMV, here's the new plate.

It's kind of grown on me after a while. Plus, it sort of natually

rolls off the tongue with that southern twang people in this

area seem to have. ; )
