Bed Rhino Lined
Rhino Lining is an excellent product as a bed liner, but also for
many other commercial and industrial uses. The application and
preparation is very similar to paint. I chose to have the Rhino
Lining color matched to the truck. This is mixed at their corporate
facility in California, so it can delay the scheduling of the process
slightly. There is also a UV topcoat that is applied on top of the
Rhino Lining. This is basically paint that is also color matched to
the truck. It helps to protect the liner from fading due to the sun.
If you plan to have the Rhino Lining color matched, consider
other parts
you may want lined also. It is much easier to do them
all at once, not to mention less expensive.
Front Bumper Rhino Lined
Rhino Lining the front bumper was no small task. Moving an
object of this size and weight poses many obstacles. The bumper
was removed from the truck when lined so that all sides of it
would be lined. It needed to be rotated several times and allowed
to dry between coats. The new finish needed to be protected from
the jig that was attached to a floor jack. Using a jig to hold the
bumper at the right angle made installation a one man job.
Rear Bumper Rhino Lined
Rhino Lining the rear bumper was much easy than the front. The
rear bumper was also removed from the truck so that all sides
of it would be lined. The chrome was stripped off by sandblasting
and then POR-15 was applied to protect the bare metal from
moisture. The Rhino Lining was then sprayed on over the POR-15.
